Our Curriculum for 2011

This year we are continuing to use my own "special blend" of methods from The Well Trained Mind, Charlotte Mason's philosophy (various books), and Teaching the Trivium, whilst also trying to incorporate readings and plans from Ambleside Online (AO).  I have always used the AO booklists as a basis for our read-aloud booklists and continue to do so, but I also want to use the yearly booklists to supplement most of our subject areas - such as: history, science, composer study, Shakespeare, poetry etc...

It's so refreshing to find another kiwi HS blogger, especially one who appears to be meandering down a very similar home educating pathway to the one we're on(CM, WTM, & the Bluedorns, TTT).

Really nice blog too ... must add, I do like your nature alphabet creation. Great job!

blessings and smiles,
Chelle
